Less than a mile from here, you will arrive at the intersection with NM 3. If you take a right, you can take a short drive up historic Fierro Road and see the historic chapel and old mining village. You may wish to stop in at Fort Bayard for a self guided tour, or a guided tour on Saturday mornings. This is six miles ahead, just after the right turn on to US 1.
